Corrine Garrison, 81, passed away from pancreatic cancer on Sunday March 17, 2024, with her devoted husband and daughter by her side at the Anne & Donald McGraw Center for Caring Community Hospice.

Corrine is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years Clyde Garrison, her daughter Jennifer McCormick (Pat) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and her adored three grandchildren Madelyn, Patrick, and Thomas.

Corrine was preceded in death by her parents Bessie Maze and John Harris, her sisters Oneta Bailey, Iona Godsey and Amelia Ann Richardson and her brothers Milous Harris and Dewy Liverett.

Corrine was born on January 24,1943, in Russellville, Alabama. After high school graduation she began working in the insurance industry. In 1969 Corrine married Clyde. A year later they welcomed their only child Jennifer. For the next 18 years Corrine focused all her energy on her family and supported Clyde as they traveled the world to advance Clyde’s Navy career.

In 1978 Corrine returned to the insurance industry. Her hard work and tenacious nature paid off when she began working at McNeil Wall Insurance Agency in Jacksonville Beach. Her mentor Dick Wall offered her the opportunity of a lifetime to partner with him and McNeil, Wall and Garrison Insurance Agency was formed. Corrine was a valued member of The Hartford Trumball Council, Beaches Elderly Board of Directors, Independent Insurance Agents of Northeast Florida board member, and Project Impact. Corrine is well known as a trailblazer for women in the insurance industry and mentored many women throughout her life. 

Corrine dedicated much of her life to her Methodist church family. She served on several governing committees at Ponte Vedra Church. She held many officer positions with United Methodist Women and had a passion for their many missions. If she saw a need, Corrine would help. She was known as the consummate entertainer and a wonderful cook. The Garrison Kitchen at the Beaches Historical Society Museum is named after Corrine. She loved to travel, garden, spend time with her vast network of friends and spoil her grandchildren.
